Curation of Literary Events


As part of her work as a professor and poet, Amy Catanzano curates literary events with other writers and artists, sometimes as transdisciplinary initiatives across science, visual art, film, performance, and music.

Catanzano served as the faculty convener for the Reynolda Conference, Entanglements: A Conference on the Intersections of Poetry, Science, and the Arts, which brought together leading poets, artists, scientists, and scholars for three days of programming and performances.

Catanzano co-directs the Dillon Johnston Writers Reading Series in the Department of English at Wake Forest. She has curated author readings, performances, talks, and class visits with writers Fred Moten, Charles Bernstein, Nathaniel Mackey, Carmen Giménez SmithJerome Rothenberg, Amanda Ngoho Reavey, Tracie MorrisAnne Waldman, Michael Leong, George Quasha, Bhanu Kapil, M. NourbeSe Philip, and others. She often collaborates with programs across the university and other universities in the region.

Catanzano serves as a sponsor of student literary initiatives, which have included literary readings featuring students, student-edited literary publications, student poetry contests in collaboration with Wake Forest University Press and the Academy of American Poets, National Poetry Month events involving students, and more.
